Howdy all! I hope life has been relaxing and pleasant for everyone this past week...I know mine hasn't been! ANYWAY... Here's a little interview done by Daria at Boutique Cafe last fall at the Houston Quilt Market, which just barely got posted on the Boutique Cafe site. She first interviewed Chelsea, and then me. I must say that I really do not enjoy watching this at all, and I hesitated putting it up, but I didn't want to offend Daria, who was so gracious to do the interview. I just feel like it's not really me, and I don't really talk like that, and I don't feel normal about it at all. So sorry if I come across as not very happy...I think I was really nervous!

Oh well...'nuff said!
Oh, and one other thing. Remember all the posts about the birds, and the eggs? Well I had to throw out all of the eggs because they never hatched, and went rotten, and the mother bird was a total flake! Well, she laid another clutch of 6 eggs, and one has hatched so far! Only problem is, as soon as the egg hatched, the mom took off, and wouldn't take care of the baby, and it died!!! (sniff!) All of this drama is killing me! I just hope some more eggs hatch, even though the mom is outta- there. I'm going to have to put her in a support group for neglectful teenage moms or something. I'm so disappointed in her!

I hope someone out there can give me some advise on how to save the babies. Anyone? Anyone at all??? Do I need a surrogate bird-mom? Help!

Have a great week!

New patterns coming soon...

I thought it was about time to put up some pics of the new patterns designs I have been working on for some time now. I am just about to send them off to the printer, so not much longer and they'll be ready!

First: The Athena/Calista Skirts (two in one pattern):The Athena skirt is a long peasant style tiered skirt with added gathered strips at each tier.
The Calista skirt is sassy, short (knee length) and pieced, with just one gathered strip.

Next, the two new bag patterns:The Bellanca Bag is a diaper bag sized purse with lots of roomy pockets, and a drawstring top with a magnetic clasp closure.
The Snazzy Bag is made using Soire'e Honeybun strips. It has two options: The flap closure, or the loop and button.

This is another fun skirt combo:The Sophisticate Skirt is a cute straight style, to the knee, with two options: Pieced or unpieced, flower or no flower.
And here's a cute fluffy little baby blanket:Named after my Granddaughter Halle Rose, this blanket features gathered strip flowers, and Cuddle Fleecetm from Shannon Fabrics on the back side for cuddly softness any child will love snuggling up with.

These are those great new slipper boots:They come in Adult sizes 6-9, maybe 10, and I'm doing these in youth sizes as well: sizes 13-4
They are lined in that same Cuddle Fleecetm mentioned above, and are incredibly comfy on the footsies!
So that's it for now...Hopefully you will find something you like here. Check back in a couple of weeks to order!

Name that Mannequinn winners!

So this was REALLY hard! You all came up with such imaginative ane creative ideas! I changed my top 5 list about ten times...then I had to just walk away and come back later because I couldn't choose! I want everyone who suggested a name to know that I value each of you as great supporters, and friends, and I appreciate your time and energy in my behalf! I truly wish I could be Oprah Winfrey right now, and I would have you all on my show, and hand out a prize to all of you! But I'm not Oprah Winfrey, so I have to settle for choosing three runners up, and a grand prize winner.

The three runners up will recieve a little fabric swatch bundle from my new "Santorini" fabric line, not available till September! You can be creative and decide what to do with it! The grand prize winner will receive an apron made by me from "Santorini"!

The three runners up are:

Mary on Lake Pulaski: "Tallulah"
and Little Miss Shabby: "Violet"
Lou Lou: "Rosie"

The Grand Prize Winner Is:
Marcie Koch for her choice of "Stella". I've been hanging out with her for a while, and this name just seems to capture her for me. Thanks!!

Please send me your email addresses, and mailing addresses so I can send you your prizes!

Once again, thanks to all of you who participated, and please know that I had 27 names that I loved dearly, and It was really hard to narrow it down. Yours was probably one of them!

Thanks for playing! I love you all!

OKAY...the names are fabulous!

I am officially ending the "name that mannequinn" contest...and I must say that I am overwhelmed with great ideas for her name!
You are all such imaginative people...It's going to be really tough choosing! But I will force myself to narrow it down to my top three favorites, two of whom will get a little suprise gift, and the winner will get a Grand Prize, TBA. (to be announced.) I am toying with all sorts of ideas for prizes, and I'm not sure yet, but the winner will definitely get something handmade by me.

"SHE" was indeed handmade by me, from start to finish. This was one of the more ambitious projects I've ever taken on. But it's almost weird; I feel in a scarey way strangely akin to Dr. Frankenstein! No worries, I did not raid any graves for bodies, or body parts in her creation. She is made of strictly All New Material.
Anyhow, I will be posting further updates on the winners very soon, so stay tuned!

And on another note,
Here are a couple of new photos of those soon to be arriving "boots", and a new bag pattern on the horizon, to name a few.

Be back soon... busy busy busy!
Oh...and if you haven't yet done so, please pause the music list, scroll down, and on the right sidebar there is a video that I want ALL of you to watch, if you will. It would make me very happy, and you too, if you did.

"Name that Mannequinn"

I just wanted you to meet a new friend of mine. She's not like anyone else you know. I think it's safe to say you have never met anyone as quiet, and as composed as this new friend of mine. She's kept a low profile, so far, but is soon to have a "coming out of the closet"...of sorts. She needs to be introduced to the world. Her view of life has been limited to my little studio, as I scurry in and out, making one mess after another. She knows nothing of the REAL world. But, I've decided it's time to introduce her to BLOGWORLD. One step at a time.

Please meet my new friend _______!

(That's a nice padded booty!)

See, she doesn't even have a name. Poor thing. I did call her a few choice names during her construction that I wouldn't want to repeat , but I like her better now. She's actually going to Quilt Market with me, to model some of my new patterns in my booth.

...But I really need some help coming up with her name. I'm drawing a blank. I'm so stumped.
If I choose your name, I'll give you a little surprise! (Leave me with your email please)

Be creative, now, come on!

Update:Hey... great names Blogworld inhabitants!
I am enjoying this so much! I still haven't chosen my fave yet, but I'm loving all of your creative ideas!

Just a thought...Wouldn't it be funny if I bought her a plane ticket and had her sit beside me on the plane ride to market. What if I sat there and had a conversation with her the whole way, ordered her a Diet coke and some peanuts, and just acted like there was nothing weird. Think of the looks on the flight attendants' faces as they realized that they were dealing with a clearly mentally disturbed passenger, and that they better play along or I might freak out and do something scary on the plane. Hahaha...So they would come up and ask both of us if we needed anything, and I would use some weird ventriloquist voice to be "Her" voice and answer back that I wanted a headset for the movie, and maybe a little more respect from the crew. I'd have a blast with that one!

Now give me yours.
