Back Home... Whew!

Hi everyone! I am finally catching my breath after the whirlwind of Quilt Market! It was lots of fun, and lots of work, and I'm happy to be back, but sorta sad too. It's always over too quickly for me, even though it's exhausting. So many fun things to see, so many wonderful people to visit with! (Note the famous Amy Butler, above who I adore. She is a wonderful, gracious, incredibly talented human being.)

Anyway, I got some pictures I'm excited to share with you, but I will probably put them into a slide show like I did last time, so as not to take up too much room on the blog. I am also going to list my newest patterns on the right sidebar, with the others, as they are now available to purchase retail through Pink Fig, and wholesale through me. It takes a bit of work for me to get that done, so bear with me.

Here are a few little teaser Photos for you, till I get the rest in a slide show. It really was a blast...and I'm already looking forward to May for the next one!

This first one is of my very talented niece Chelsea Andersen, of Pink Fig Patterns, (left), Patty Young of Michael Miller, who just debuted her first line "Andalucia" (gorgeous!), and me on the right. I was there helping Chelsea with her booth, as I didn't have one of my own this time.

This is a picture of Anna Maria Horner and me, in her fabulous booth, which won first prize for best booth design for the second time in a row! She is also expecting her SIXTH child! She's a busy girl, and soon to be even busier! (Don't I know it)

...More of the coolness of Anna Maria's awesome booth designs. Don't you LOVE that ottoman?

The one below is of Lucy, Mary from "Confessions of a craft addict", and me, and Chelsea.

This is my baby sister Lucy and Chelsea, clowning around in Chelsea's booth. Lucy came from Denver to help man the booth, and to hang with us and laugh! We had a great time. (Watch for more from Lucy in the future...hmmm.)

So that's it for now, but I promise more very soon!
Thanks for dropping in for a peek...

To Market to Market To Sell All My Stuff

Today is the last day to tie up all my loose ends before leaving tomorrow for Houston, where I will be attending International Quilt Market. I am really looking forward to being there, and I promise to bring back lots of pictures to share! My niece Chelsea just called, she is already there, and is going to dinner with Heather Bailey (!) Lucky dog...I wish I had gone a little earlier now!

Anyhoo...I've been sewing and stuffing ziplocks for days now, and I've slept but precious little. I'm hoping that it won't show in the dark circles under my eyes, and the way I drag around.

Thanks for all your comments and support, and friendships! I feel like I know many of you who I've never really met in person! BLOGWORLD...it's really quite amazing!

Take care...I'll be back with stories and pictures!

I know I'm Obsessed when...

...I read a book (Breaking Dawn) for 3 days straight, and on the last day I actually sit in my closet reading till 4:00 am...not one bit tired.

...I forget that it's early day( because I'm sewing, and because I read Breaking Dawn till 4:00 am) and my son sits at school waiting for me for 1 entire hour. The saddest thing ever.

...I refuse to admit that I'm tired, grumpy and not fun to be around just so I can keep doing my "work" (which is actually a front for my most fun job ever), way into the wee hours of the morning when the rest of the sane world is sound asleep.

...I keep ending up at the Red Mango, just to be sure their amazingly tantalizing frozen yogurt is still as good as it was the last time. Yep. Still just as good.

...I can't stop putting pictures of my granddaughter on my blog space because I seriously believe she's the cutest thing I've ever seen, even though I know there are millions of Grandmothers out there who could argue that point.
Sorry, but we can't all be right:)

So here they are:

(These first two are of Halle in an adorable little reversible apron/smock that Pina, my friend from Blogworld (Australia) made and sent to me for her. How cute!!!)

Tell me what you are obsessed with. I need some new ones! (Except Halle...I can keep her.)

Cali to see Halle

Hi! I've been gone just a little while, hope you've all been having a wonderful fall! Just a few quick pics to illustrate the beauty of this season...(thanks Anna!)

So I've been visiting my daughter Brittney, and her husband Matt, and their beautiful daughter Halle for a couple of days while I went to a Color Me Mine convention in Southern Cal. (uggh) with my husband Hal. It's been great...at least the little bits of time I got to steal with them!
Here's a couple of pics from the last few days.

First, this is a funny little face she makes sometimes...just to be silly. How cute is that??

Isn't that funny? A little fuzzy...she doesn't EVER hold still!
Look how radiant Brittney is...so happy to be a mom:)

And I'm actually happy to be a grandma! (Strange how that happens)

And Halle is happy to be in her stroller, looking cute in this little pink hat!

Time to pack and go home:( Halle was my little friend...she kept me company while I packed.

And while my back was turned...Caught ya! Maybe she wanted to come home with me.

Back at home...looks like someone stole a nap with the "Soire'e Quilt". If she drools on it she's in big trouble!

And while I've been gone, it looks like my daughter Nat and her friend got crazy with trying to bake. I think they had a lot more fun playing with the flour, actually.

What else should I have expected???

Hope you have a great fall...while it lasts!

Messy Room Contest! By Vintage Chic Boutique

Hello all,

Today I am posting about a fun contest hosted by my cute niece Chelsea at Vintage Chic Boutique, and Pink Fig Patterns:

I know it says take a "P", but that's not what it should say! (haha) It should say take a picture!
It's all about keeping it real in our blogs, at least some of the time!
So to enter, just take a picture of the craziest, messiest room in your house. Then post about it on your blog, link back to Chelsea's blog, then leave a comment there with a link to your blog and you will be entered in a drawing to win some "Pattern Packs" from Chelsea and I! There will be 3 pattern pack prizes and 1 GRAND PRIZE, A "Mod Girl Purse" made from Heather Bailey's Pop Garden Fabric!

The contest starts now and ends on October 26th...Chelsea's birthday, at midnight! The winners will be announced on Halloween Eve. Wish her a happy birthday ON her birthday and she'll give you an extra entry!

So...Make a Mess, Take a Pic, and Win a Prize! Happy Halloween!!!!

Here's a couple new items... I would have more, but my daughter Paige who is supposed to model them for me cannot be held in one place for more than 5 seconds or she will miss out on something much more important that could be life altering.

So here are the cute little "cuts", as they are called, which are very popular among quilters and accessory makers. Aren't those darling Jelly Rolls cute all rolled up and tied in a bow?

These here are called Layer Cakes. They are 12" squares that you can use for all sorts of things. There's a little sheet included that gives some ideas for some of the things you can do with them.

And these are Charm Packs. They are 5" squares, and there are 36 in the pack: 1 each of all of the prints in the line. Same with the layer cakes. Jelly rolls are 2 1/2" x 44" strips of all of the fabrics.
They really are fun to use! I made a baby blanket using the charm packs and jelly roll strips. (But it's being quilted by my good friend Lareesa right now. I'll post it when it's all done.)

There is another quilt, my new Soire'e quilt, which I will feature at market, which I just got back from Lareesa, but I will have to take a picture when daylight returns! (Sometimes I wonder if I am part vampire, especially since reading Twilight, etc...because I'm always up late, and trying to sleep when it's light. Go figure.)

Update: It's down below.

But anyway, I will have the pattern available for that soon as well.

Oh, and here's the Retro "Groovy" Bag in the aqua colorway. Darn! Now I'm out of bamboo handles, so I'll have to order more before I can make another one!
I really like this bag... It's great for spring. (As if it's just right around the corner!) Not so lucky, as we are headed straight into winter:( It will be here before we will know it!...Except for my new Australian friends... You are just into spring, aren't you? Lucky dogs! But Soire'e (pronounced "swahray") isn't quite here for your spring sewing projects. Sorry!

This is a picture of the new quit I designed for this fabric line. It's called the Soire'e quilt. (Not a very creative name, I know) It's really fun to make, and very "girly"! The pattern should be available in a couple of weeks.

So that's it for tonight...I'm off to dream land. I guess I'm not a vampire after all:)

More Pictures Tomorrow...

Hi friends...It's me, the very tired and very frazzled person who doesn't even resemble that picture on my blog there to the right, as I have been neglecting my personal hygiene, as well as many other things I normally see to. I have some things to share with you, some little things I've been working on, but alas, it all must wait for the sun to rise, and my energy to be renewed by some seriously needed sleep.

I thought I'd leave you with something pretty to look at, I know I need that right now!

I hope you are all enjoying the beautiful fall, and I hope you are all busy creating things you love!

Goodnight....
