Hooray for Kindergarten!
My 5 year old son Troy has officially started school, and his mom couldn't be happier! (for him too!) His first day wasn't today, but this is when I finally got around to posting about it!
You know how long it has been since I didn't have a preschool- age child at home with me? Twenty seven years! I am soooo ready for this! Although, I must admit that kindergarten does not exactly give a person much of a time frame to work with. I feel like I drop him off, come home, clean up the house from the morning disasters, get in the shower, and go back and pick him up! I barely have time to do anything at all, and it's time to go back. But, I shant complain, because this is heavenly compared to what I've had forever. Finally at 47 I'm beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel!
Here's a couple pics from his first day... d'ya think he needs a hair cut??? Brittney, where are you?

I'm just starting down this tunnel. My oldest just started kinder at a public school - and I am already anxious to have the next two join him. All in due time.....all in due time!
My daughter Jordan started her kindergarten year too! Jack is in preschool 3 days/week = 3 half days of time for me! I was so ready for this! LOL
Hi Lila,
I hope that Troy enjoys his kindergarten year and that you enjoy some time exploring some new things.
Kindergarten is an exciting year - or at least I hope it is- I am a kindergarten teacher ( this is my 31 year of teaching) and we do have fun. The kids often make me laugh- one little girl said to me that her first day was fun and that day was funner and tomorrow would be even more funner.. I don't know if it will live up to her exponential expectations but it sure made my day..
I hope to make the bag pattern that you sent me in your giveaway but it may need to wait awhile- Kindergarten beckons:D
Regards,
Anna
kindergarten is so stinkin' fun!! i know, because i was such an overprotective spaz that i went all day the whole year with all 3 kids! i think maybe i'll be a kindergarten teacher when i grow up! i'm 45, so i'd better grow up soon. and you look incredible for 47!!!! i want to look like you when i'm 47! i guess that gives me two years to get hot!
have a great weekend and be sure to write down the cute things your cute boy says every day when he gets home!
all my best.
I love this post mom! He looks so so cute! I'm so happy for you that you FINALLY have a tad of freedom. I'll give him a haircut for sure but I kinda think it's cute like this too. :)
Oh my, Troy is so big and so cute. I really miss that boy. Ya know, kindergarten here in texas is all day long. I wasn't sure about it at first, but maybe it's not so bad of an idea :) Give that little stinker a kiss for me, even tho he surly doesn't even remember me anymore :(
I do hope your son enjoys KINDER...Not having young ones I can remeber when my own started all those lovely paintings and craft projects....he will love it...Have a GREAT day........
Oh My Goodness! I love this post! I honestly cannot believe you have survived 27 years at home with small people and are still so georgeous. My face has warped into a half snarl after only the past 6 years- good grief I would be totally insane after 27 years of this! By big guy started 1 grade this year, so last year was my first break. My baby girl just started half day pre k and it is crazy like you said. I love the break but i feel like i no more get her droped off and its time to go back for pick up. I thought next year would be my final break, but now it looks like I may be homeschooling my son next year- he has autism and needs more than they can give at school- but we shall see.....
i love this kid!
